FAQs

Why kiln dried logs?

Quite simply because they are the best! Instantly ready to burn, dryer through the whole log, insect and mould free and produces up to 30% more heat per kilogram than barn dried and of course they burn cleaner.

How do they become ‘kiln dried’?

Our bags contain premium, kiln-dried hardwood logs that have been sustainably sourced from British woodland. We split them, load them into bags then place the bags in the kiln. Our kiln reaches temperatures up to 120 degrees C, and is powered by our own logs. The logs are in the kiln for an average of 4-5 days. We constantly test the moisture content of the logs, so if another day if required in the kiln this will be done.

When can you deliver?

We are well stocked year-round so it is very likely you will get your delivery within days of your order.

Are you a Ready to Burn supplier?

Yes! We pride ourselves in the quality of our logs. We are Woodsure Ready to Burn certified, meaning you are supplied with the best kiln dried logs, having a moisture content of 20% or less which complies with the current legislation.

Do you stack the logs?

We do not stack the logs, your logs will be left in the bag, of which we will collect at a later date, or when your next bag is delivered.

What type of wood am I getting?

Our bulk bags contain seasoned hard wood, mostly Ash, but also with some beech and oak mixed in.

What size are your logs?

Our logs are approximately 9 inches long, and are perfectly split to stack nicely in any wood burner, chiminea, pizza oven etc. If a different size is required, please do ask as we have the means to alter sizes.

How many bags do I need for winter?

How many bags you need all depends on how often you light your fire. If more is required, we have plenty of stock year-round.
